It's a Girl - Part 2

I got a phone call from Vicki the placement social worker. She has a baby girl that's 3 weeks old. She is still in the hospital detoxing (was born positive to a couple drugs). She asked if I was interested in taking her. How can I say no to a baby? But can I handle 2. And a baby is a lot more work. I've never had a baby. My Princess was almost 2 when I got her.

I haven't made a decision yet. I have to get back to her. I just had to tell someone.

  1. Wow! Right out of the blue! I bet you weren't expecting that kind of phone call today. That's a pretty big decision. My advice would be to follow your instincts, whatever they may be. The little voice inside us usually knows what's best. :)

  2. Lorraine - My biggest fear is screwing up two childrens lives instead of just one. Of being a horrible mother. I told her yes. How do you say no to a child that just wants a good home, to be loved. She comes home from the hospital on Monday. I guess my diaper buying days aren't behind me like I thought. And I need a car seat. Clothing. I need someone to throw me a shower fast!

  4. What a blessing for all of you. You and your girls will be I'm my prayers. Don't worry about screwing up as parents we all do a little screwing up. As long as your children know they are loved they are a step ahead of many. Blessings to your family.

  8. Wow that is amazing, what a life changing phone call! Wishing you all the best with your new adventure and I am sure that you will give her a 100% better life than what she may have had if you hadn't said yes. Think of it that way :) Good Luck!!!
